Description
I had a project ongoing in the garage so I decided to paint in the studio during the afternoon. In addition the frontal wave was scheduled to arrive with some showers. This sunset from March 28th, 2017 was something that I had meaning to revisit. I used a lot of paint on this small and very rough surface. The rain arrived but I was dry in the studio.
The stretched out sheets of altostratus are great for sunset skies. The associated deformation zones reveal the approach of a low pressure area and a warm conveyor belt. A major warm spell and thaw was on the way. The ice was still hanging on to the shoreline of the eastern basin of Singleton Lake. Ice does not reflect like open and smooth water surfaces. All of this scene would melt away with the mild weather and the spring storm. Winter was almost over. Painting is all about the light... I never tire of painting the weather.
