Description
Lava Flow at Hand Lake
The scene from on top of the lava flow which ended at Hand Lake, between 1500-3000 years ago. Most of the volcanic mountains in the area are with the exception of South Sister which is dormant. There were worries several years ago, when a bulge started to appear, but the experts don't seem too concerned about it. Hand Lake's size ranges from very small to larger depending on the season. The old McKenzie Hwy is closed during the winter due to snowfall, but in Spring, the lake would partially fill this image. There was a fire in this area several years ago and evidence of burnt or singed trees surround the area.

Nature, animals, beauty have been a source of nourishment throughout my life. Photography allows me to capture, interpret, and share that world of wonder I see about me, and sometimes use what I capture as an inspiration to create something new, by incorporating other exposures, textures or brushwork.
