I really liked how these logs near the T.A. Moulton Barn gave it a great sense of place. Of course, the Milky Way skies helped too, but the logs take me back to the days when it was built back in the early 1900s. And with our teaching workshops at this location some 100 years later, I really like that.

How I Got The Shot
In testing the Pentax K1, I was hoping to be able to get AstroTracer to work consistently but this was not to be. Instead, I made the best of the K1s ability to shoot a lot of details in a single frame. On this it did well even if it didn't reach the level of quality I had been aiming for (with AstroTracer).

I was also looking to see if I could find some good Sigma lenses that would fit the K1 and this was not to be either. I found a discontinued Sigma 28mm f/1.8 lens that functioned properly with the K1 but it didn't seem to have the low light capability and (more importantly) the sharpness of their newer art line of lenses.
