Artist's Description
"Lenticular Tetons"
Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA
A study in horizontal and vertical contrasts, this composition highlights a broad, flat plain and a lenticular cloud with the marked upward movement of the "Cathedral Group" of peaks on the Grand Teton Range. The shape of two middle-ground trees mimic the verticality of the majestic peaks--including the slight frame-right lean of the prominent mountaintop.
Also, the warm gold and green hues of the foreground and middle-ground set off the cool navy blue and gray tones of the rugged mountain face.
This image was captured just off Antelope Flats Road near Mormon Row about thirteen miles north of Jackson, Wyoming.
