Very pleased with the image, color, printing . My selection of printing onto wood is great for this image. There are a few mildly dark lines which are natural to wood. They show through the image and contribute to the image--glad that none of these was over the face of the horse rider.

I wanted a photo that showed what a beast these things are, and this one really shows it.

Perfect! I wish that you'd included a translation of the two inscriptions in some ancient language that are above the shoulders of St John Coltrane. It would cost your company virtually nothing to supply this with the picture.
Artist's Description
LEONE, 2010, graphite on paper, 13 x 15.
In the Loggia dei Lanzi at the Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy, I fell in love with the Worried Lion, one of the two 12 foot long stone lions that bracket the stairs to the Loggia. There is so much history and emotion in the art and architecture of Italy it is often difficult to pick a focus for a drawing, but The Worried Lion made it easy because he is such a powerful guardian of the loggia. Carved by Flaminio Vacca in 1600 for the Grand Duke of Tuscany this sculpture is almost a mirror image of it's Roman inspiration. To our left is a bronze of Perseus holding the head of the Medusa by Benvenuto Cellini, placed in the Loggia in 1554. The marble base, a Cellini/Francesco del Tadda collaboration, has been removed to the Bargello Museum and a copy placed in the Loggia.

About Norman Bean
It always amazes me .... everything our eyes see is reflected light (photons bouncing toward our face). By way of a biological electro-chemical miracle this sensitive visual system transfers information to the brain, the home of the 'Phantom Captain,' where depth, detail, contrast, texture, color, shadow, light, perspective, point of view and everything you can discern, all come together as Reality. In creating a work of art the Artist seeks to trick other Phantom Captains into believing that a flat piece of paper has depth and dimensions. That there, on a flat sheet of drawing paper, down in the image, is a reality. A beautiful, shiny and interesting reality. An Artist has many ways with which to coax the graphite...

Thank you Ms. Brown for your praise. I did enjoy creating this drawing and researching the history of the sculptures. There are two Lion statues on opposite sides of the stairs into the Loggia de Lanzi. I have plans to create another drawing looking across this Flaminio Lion in profile to the older ancient Roman Lion sculpture.
