Thanks so much for the feature in Excellent Self-Taught Artists, Joe!!

Thanks, Bob. This kind is fun for me because I love to just let my imagination go and my hand with it. :)

I love your title Lil and your painting. Such beautiful control. Awesome! -- v/f

This one Lil, has similarites to Crazy Love. I really like shooting petals effects, like firework flowers. I miss a lot too because I get on sporadically. Busy but have this whole week off!

Lil Taylor replied:

You are very right, Judy. Some of my favorite paintings to paint have crazy tendrils flying around. I love that and I love painting them. Get some works done if you have the week off, girl!!

Marsha, I knew abstracts where for you. I just didn't tell you since you wanted to experiment. :) I think it's great you found your niche!! Michelle, thank you so much and after I get settled in at the mountains, I'll make sure to visit your site. Thanks so much to both of you!! :)

Thanks, you may not know ,I have figured out Abstracts are where my Love and heart is. I had great confusion. I love photoing flowers but sometimes maybe painting. Abstract excite me!!! Thank YOU so much, Chrisann!! What nice comments and I love what you makes me very happy that people enjoy what I do. Such a nice comment and I truly appreciate it! A master I'm not but unique I am. ;)

Lil, You are a master with your use of colors and how they get your attention with beauty and with your designs in each painting you do. I love your style with watercolors. How I wish we could paint together... Another favorite!

Jolanta, you and I are very alike in how we approach our art. Kristin, thank you!! :)

Lovely composition, Lil, this is beautiful.

This is very interesting Lil...I always stand up during painting.... unless I am adding detail ... how true this is!

Thank you Sharon and Jolanta for such thoughtful comments. Jolanta, with me, I think it's because I stand up when I want the strokes in a certain way so I can get a better perspective and for some odd reason, my brain connects better. I truly appreciate your comments and love your own work as you know very well. Sharon, I lied. lol Not really but I was feeling good and couldn't stop myself. We can talk about backgrounds later and you're right, our backgrounds are completely different even if we go for the same subjects so it would be fun to talk about that and experiment with each other's styles. :) Thanks to you both!!

oh yeah V/F have such graceful brush strokes...the colour blending is out of this world I can never get enough of you paintings...such flow and softness is amazing...wonderful painting...these spider lilies take my breath away!! fav vote

Hi lil, Going to take a break huh/ I'm glad you didn't. this is truly inspired. I love your loose brush with this and the colors are as beautiful as ever with deep vibrance. And your background is gorgeous. I wish we had touched a little on background when we met. We have totally different methods and I think we'd benefit by time. meanwhile V/F

These guys were amazing to work with. I order my prints then realized I needed by a certain date to get it by my wife’s birthday and they jumped on it, and made me look good, because it was here before her birthday and the print is amazing.

Artist's Description

This is a pretty abstract painting of a pretty abstract flower called the Spider Lily. I love these and they come in two colors that I know of. There's the white one which is more pink and then there's a purple. The white is more spidery looking. This painting is on heavy Arches 300 lb watercolor paper and is a signed original.

About Lil Taylor

Lil Taylor

***** As a watercolorist, I take my inspiration from the places I've lived and visited. Many of my paintings were done while living in Florida. I remember a starling that had been shot and I found alive back when I would nurse animals back to health. Starlings are known as ugly birds but as I looked at it in the sunlight, I was amazed with the myriad of colors reflected back at me. Blues, purples, reds all invaded my...
