Artist's Description

Dramatic painting of The Caister Lifeboat being launched during what later became known as "The Great Storm" in 1901. The outcome was the loss of most of the crew and those awaiting rescue . The Lifeboat was hand rowed and launched from a horse drawn trailer into the raging surf from a sandy beach in North Norfolk. This was the incident that coined the phrase "Caister men never turn back". Such was their dedication and commitment to the task of saving lives at sea..

About G Chalker C1960

Ivan Rodger ,born UK, 1968. I am a self taught artist but come from a long line of painters on both sides of the family. Painting mainly in oils on canvas. Realistic and fantasy compositions. Marine and architectural pictures appeal to me. I have many collectors for my works from many countries. I do a lot of paintings of houses and boats for their various owners mainly from photographs at realistic prices to suit the market.
