This huge yacht cruised into Gunboat Bay (in Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada) the other afternoon and as you can see, it dwarfed everything around it. Its anchor was deployed with a tremendous splash and the lucky passengers spent the night in the picturesque harbor surrounded by trees, mountains, islands and the coastline. The yacht is registered in the U.S. and changed owners last year, also undergoing a name change from "Glaze" to "Just Cause".
I photographed the yacht the next morning when one of the passengers was in the small boat that was being towed, possibly getting ready to motor into the small village to re-stock some supplies. The yacht was gone hours later, off for new adventures on the high seas. They would've had to return the way they came, towards Texada Island in the background, because the ocean narrows in the other direction and the boat was simply too big to fit through the gap. The local rumour is that the yacht was headed towards the magnificent Princess Louisa Inlet.
