Mid-afternoon sun pours through the nave clerestory windows of Washington National Cathedral, painting the vaulting ribs where they begin to spring from the wall. I was fortunate to be given access to an elevated platform about 75 feet off the nave floor; I used about 200mm focal length, positioned at a sidelong angle to the windows, to try and compress the view somewhat, .
