Magnificent! L/F

Phil Chadwick replied:

Thank you Sunny... one of my Canoe Lake pilgrimage paintings :>)) It was supposed to be torrential rain but I had the lake to myself - thanks to a missed forecast and my friend, a deformation zone.

This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

The boat house and dock have been moved around over the years - probably by the ice. The cottage looked comfortable. What a great place to spend time in any part of the year.

The feel of the painting is a strong function of the smooth but textured surface, the bold strokes and the aging oils. I was still working with the original palette of paint from several weeks before. Some of the oils were getting gooey. I was just adding new pigments as I needed them. Waste not, want not... I used a lot of paint on this small and very slippery surface. I simply laid the oils in and tried to leave them alone - continued stroking of the paint would turn the oils into m...
