Cruising on the Golden Horn, this is the view of the skyline of Eminonu, Istanbul. Eminonu is a neighborhood in the Fatih district, and covers roughtly the area on which the ancient Byzantium was built. The Galata Bridge crosses the Golden Horn into Eminonu and the mouth of the Bosphorus opens into the Marmara Sea. And up on the hill stands Topkapı Palace, the Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia. Thus Eminonu is the main tourist destination in Istanbul. Eminonu buzzes with activity. You can see one of the large ferries that ply the waters of the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara. Watching these ferries load and unload is a cultural attraction all of its own! In less then 10 minutes the ferry docks disgorges hundreds of passengers and loads up again.
