My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Thank you Mary Flore

This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

Beautiful and great quality

Artist's Description

I've had the good fortune of being able to visit more than a handful of UNESCO designated World Heritage Sites. And at the great bulk of them, it's entirely an experience of being awestruck. To put it mildly, it's a very Indiana-Jones-like experience to stand among the ruins of an ancient temple in the jungle!

And I think it was that thought process that influenced the time-worn sepia tone edit of this photo from the Mayan Ruins of Palenque. I was trying to capture that feeling from the golden age of archaeological expeditions when people began to see images from far-away and ancient places for the first time.

And for many of us today, although a place like Palenque is within reach, that dream of being the first to discover a lost ruin is the stuff of dreams. And yet, as I stood there at Palenque looking towards the ruins of the ancient Temple of the Inscriptions, daydream mode was very much activated. I imagined sleeping in the ruins of these old temples on a long...

About Mark Tisdale

Mark Tisdale

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork. It's all crafted with a heartfelt love for finding the beauty in little captured moments. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
