While out enjoying a beautiful 68 degree day down at Long Island's famous Long Beach, this was the second stop for my day the first was to capture some sunsets at another spot on the south shore of Long Island. In Long Beach I wanted to capture the winter waves crashing in and while the temperature was 68 degrees the wind gusts were very strong making the waves fight to get into the shore. Which made for some great action shots. As I stood at this second jetty which I was getting a lot of good action shots as the tide was rising faster then I anticipated and the waves were getting taller and taller from what I could see they must have been at least 10 feet and curling over and crashing down on the surf with a loud noise. The waves kept coming and coming climbing up on each other's back sometimes two to three waves crashing at once. I liked this image as the jetty is practically gone from the high tide rushing in so quickly and the scene of the various wall of water either rolling forward or rising high into the air, great action scenes.
