The Cromarty Firth runs from the Sutors of Cromarty towards the county town of Easter Ross, Dingwall, near to where this photograph was taken. The River Peffery runs through Dingwall and then out into the Cromarty Firth at the point where this was taken from. Just west of Dingwall is the start of the Cromarty Firth where the River Conon runs into it. On the right of the picture is The Black Isle and on the left is Easter Ross.
