Amazing

Absolutely beautiful!

This particular scene is from a place very near my father’s house and the memorial bench for his late wife. He himself has taken many similar photographs of this beautiful spot. I love this piece. Having it printed on the wood gave this piece depth and character, like a painting. A little clarity was obscured by the wood grain but it’s beautiful.

I have always loved mermaids and artist Skoosh’s friendship series was one I immediately fell in love with. Treated myself to one on wood and I absolutely love it. The wood is substantial and works wonderfully with the colors on the print. Eventually it will go up on the wall of my craft room/office but for now it’s right next to my laptop where i can see it as I get through my day. Can’t wait for the rest of the series to be available.

Having just lost her father, my daughter thought this would be a comfort to all of us.

Artist's Description

'Looking for Lunch' was juried into the prestigious 25th Annual Colored Pencil Society of America International Exhibition in Bethesda, Maryland. The painting is a conundrum. The bluebird (recently declining in numbers but now stable) and bees are declining in numbers. The bluebird eats the bees and the berries if no insects are available. The porcelain vine is invasive and when the bees pollinate the flowers more berries are produced which are eaten by birds which spread the seeds for more invasive plants. The vine was purchased in an area where it had not yet reached invasive status. Originally porcelain vines were imported for landscaping because of their beauty.
