The Church of St. Leodegar (German: St. Leodegar im Hof or Hofkirche St. Leodegar) is the most important church and a landmark in the city of Lucerne, Switzerland. It was built in parts from 1633 to 1639 on the foundation of the Roman basilica which had burnt in 1633. This church was one of the few built north of the Alps during the Thirty Years War and one of the largest and art history rich churches of the German late renaissance period.
David studied architecture and visual arts at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, University of Copenhagen in Denmark and Cornell University in Ithaca New York. He has worked as an architect, in the motion picture business, furniture maker and now as a visual artist working with mediums as diverse as wood and photography. Many of the images shown here were taken in Europe and across America on Kodachrome slides. The series "Looking Up" was begun while studying and traveling in Europe looking up in awe at the cathedrals, churches and architectural wonders. The series "Night Lights" was inspired while taking 72 hour cross-country road trips while returning from Cornell to Northern California. David is also an avid birder and has...
