One of the few items of the 1989 UM BBall Championship that I've seen. Very nice

This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

We live in the desert so the Palm theme resonates. The color scheme is brilliant and perfect. We would like to see more from this artist. Where do we look?
Artist's Description
It's hard to find a bigger boxing fan than me! I love the personalities, the skill, the determination, the drama, the one-on-one aspect, and the heart that goes along with the sport. It's a sport where the combatants wear their emotions on their sleeve and you really feel like you get to know a fighter after seeing him push himself to the limit, round-after-round, in a tough and grueling brawl. There is nothing better than watching a good fight!
In "Los Guerreros" ("The Warriors"), I wanted to get in as close to the action as possible and capture the warrior in the fighter. My intention with this piece is for the viewer to experience the ferociousness and complete concentration that a fighter experiences in combat; when the fighter is "in the zone", so to speak. This drawing captures boxer Oscar de la Hoya frozen a moment before landing a blow on rival Ike Quartey in their 1999 fight. De La Hoya's snarling, disfigured face of total concentration on his target is the focus...
About Roberto Valdes Sanchez
I was born in the small agricultural community of Yuba City, California, on November 20, 1979. Since childhood, art has been an important part of my life. This experience led me to understand the importance of utilizing art as a means of expression. In 2002, I graduated with two bachelor's degrees at California State University, Sacramento - one in Art Studio and the other in Ethnic Studies (with an emphasis on Chicano Studies). After graduation, I had the opportunity to attend the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. At the Academy, I furthered my artistic studies in painting, figure drawing, color...
