A great capture, Randy, and lovely tribute to rescue animals! Rescue dogs, especially, hold a special place in my heart, and over the years my wife and I have adopted 7. All were extremely loving and intelligent creatures... similar, as you indicated, to Diamond. L/F

Sweet image and story, Randy! My wife and I used to rescue cats. She passed away suddenly last December, and now I have the last four rescues for companionship.

What a great shot! Love it. LF

Great photo with a dynamic composition! Superb dog, quite elegant. The details are sharp and the light is good. Liked and pinned!

Thanks much, Doug! WOW a Great Pyrenees, what a gentle, loving "bear"! lol Thanks much for your visit to my galleries and comment on this piece of work. Both are very much appreciated! Randy B. Rosenberger Administrator of the Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group

Randy, It's been a while since I last visited this heartwarming piece, sorry to hear Diamond had been destroyed. )-: my son's family recently rescued a 5-year-old male Great Pyrenees, a more gentle large dog would be tough to find. And what a great lesson it is for my grandchildren; Dogs are not something you throw away! Very touching story and replies... L&F

Great work lf

Thanks Donna,. I will share this comment with her owner, as she sadly had to have her put down. She attacked another dog, just protecting her owner, but the law is very rigid concerning pit bulls or pit mixes. If it were another breed, they probably would treat it with similar rigidness. Dogs must be able to be controlled by owner, if they are to survive. This dog was great with people, but when another dog was present with the people, it was rough going for the other dogs.

Wonderful image and story Randy!..L

Thanks Robyn and she was a very beautiful dog the very first time I saw her. Rescue dogs programs are very heartwarming as they bring this chance at life that the dog wouldn't have had if the owner didn't step up to save her.

Look at that face:-) Such a sweet baby!! Such a wonderful description Randy and beautiful image:-)

so cute!

A thought-provoking description. My parents took in shelter dogs and the love between them was everlasting. My hubby and I had our Sparky pup for 16 loving years .hubby found him at 6 weeks old and abandoned in a parking lot. Right after his passing on, a wild calico adopted us. She used to visit him in the yard. Years later she came in with Sparky's metal heart shaped tag that was lost long before he passed!! Logically it must have attached to her magnetic collar. Spiritually one need not explain! PIF WFS

Thanks Ellen, and this one finally had to be put down, but it was great around people, even me, a complete stranger, but during its faithful duty of protecting her owner, she tore up a couple of other dogs, even though both were leashed, so that lead to her demise. She was superb around people, just not other dogs.

Randy - This is so wonderful! Such a sweet.loving face! Love my Pitbull - she's overprotective of me which is a problem but she's such a love and so great with my four grandchildren! One of my Favorites and PIF! v/f/g+

Thanks, as this was one beauty of a rescue and great around people, even me, so the poor girl had to stretch her imagination a bit! What a lovely dog, and heartfelt story, looks like she is really enjoying her moment of glory!! L f/v

Beautiful animal, great description LV

Thanks Paul, as she was a true Diamond, and the first time we met, she was my buddy, and I had no fear, and nobody should have. Now, enter another dog, posing a threat to friend or owner, and the dog protected what it thought it should, and then after two such other animal attacks, after guarding master, had to be put down, and made me heartsick, but things happen, that we can not control.
