I first began photographing landscapes when I worked in an area steeped with deep canyons, colorful buttes, awesome plateaus, hoodoos and stone arches—Canyonlands National Park in Southern Utah. I worked there as a park ranger in the mid-1980s. Landscape photography is the heart and soul of who I am. I can’t image a life without a camera. It is what I do best. Shooting landscapes has grown beyond taking beautiful photographs of nature’s wonders. It has become a spiritual experience. When I’m out photographing, I’m as content as a child making mud pies.
