Super quality and love it!

I was struck by this image the moment my "New Yorker" arrived: the simplicity of color, the form creating a face that was inherently simple in its composition but conveyed a gentle, meditative, and content expression of a street reader who, surrounded by bustle and snow and predictively noisy city life went on reading happily. The minimal color and composition of the facial expression immediately made me grateful for an artist who could capture serenity and rapt attention in one of my favorite pastimes. It now lives on my living room wall. I smile whenever I walk by it. The print from"The New Yorker" cover is "A New Leaf" by Anna Parini.

For obvious reasons, the instant I saw this portrait, I had to have it. The artist is no doubt aware of the rarity of "scarecrow nose" tuxies! I was delighted with the quality of the print and the frame, as well as with the speed with and sturdy packaging in which it was shipped. Everyone in the family, including our little guy, is delighted with this work.

Great photo. Perfect for our don’s bedroom. Frame was quality too. Perfect shipping packaging.

Artist's Description

He looked down at his guitar. It lay broken at his feet where it had been thrown. His girlfriend had her head tilted and her hands on her hips. Her eyes flashed daggers at him and he felt the heat if her rage on his face where her hand had slapped it a moment before. He looked up at her and then down at his instrument. It had been with him through many adventures but was now in pieces. Thrown by a jealous woman who thought it was used to pull birds. It was but that didn't matter. No one should wreck a guys gear. EVER! He bent down and picked up the wood and strings, cradling them in his arm as he swept his car keys off the dresser. Without looking back, he left. ---------------------- Guitar machine head in black and white.

About Abbie Shores

I'm an oil painter and photographer, who also makes time to paint with words through my short stories and published poetry. Seascapes and animals are the primary focus of my oil paintings; however, as you can see in this portfolio, a variety of intriguing subjects and styles are likely to spark my creativity. I live in Manchester, England, and am happily sharing my life with a mental budgie, two Alsatian puppies, and a long-suffering, sculptor-boyfriend . . . not necessarily in that order. :)
