Morning along Main Street in the ghost town of Darwin, California. The building beneath the telephone pole was The Outpost, which was built in the 1920's. It was enlarged and converted into a cafe in 1929. The service station sold both unleaded gasoline and a special mixture for turbo powered engines. The building was also a United States Post Office. Today, Darwin is a ghost town with less than 50 residents.

About me? Well, I enjoy long walks on the beach.... No, I guess that's not what you want to hear. I have been interested in photography for many, many years. I still have my second hand Kodak Brownie camera that I bought when I was six or seven years old. I took a photography class when I was in junior high school, but never really took any other classes or schooling in photography after that. Instead, after learning the basics, I photograph what I find pleasing. I prefer to photograph nature, ghost towns and the unusual. Whenever I can, I head off into the great unknown in search of photographic possibilities. I prefer the deserts of the American Southwest. Until recently, I was reluctant to convert to a digital format....
