Artist's Description
Detail of a vintage US postage stamp commemorating the 150th anniversary of Maine statehood. It depicts a painting by Edward Hopper entitled "The Lighthouse at Two Lights", painted in 1929 at Cape Elizabeth in Maine. The original painting hangs in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. This image, by contrast, reproduces just one of the 130 million copies of the stamp that were printed.
