Description
These conjoined dragonflies (Common Green Darner, Anax junius) were dutifully "dropping off the kids" (laying eggs) on the undersides of pond weeds when I spotted them, in harsh side light that brought out their glowing wings and the highlights in the water. Increasing the saturation brought out a variety of colors that reminded me of a Tiffany or Maxfield Parrish stained glass scene.

Gary Holmes, photographer: I am an opportunist photographer of nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer to capture the spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring, and rarely photograph staged subjects other than portraits. Although I have been a photographer for decades, I continue to study and learn the craft. Long ago, I embraced the hugely expanded opportunities offered by digital photography, but I have only been posting them online since September 2012. As a result, I have now successfully sold several of my works. I will continue to post my very best works on FAA and other sites every day or two, as time permits. Please revisit my sites periodically. I welcome your votes, support and gently constructive criticism or suggestions, all of which help guide me in my photographic odyssey. Nothing makes me happier as a photographer than knowing someone likes one of my works so much that they purchased one.

Mary, I am happy you liked this. It takes a second to appreciate, and the thumbnail does not represent it well.

Thank you, Marcia and Lisa, for your support and faves. This work was quite a stretch from my usual style of processing, but the vivid reflections stimulated me to try something different. I am happy that you and others appreciate it.
