Another image displaying the fascinating beauty of fractal geometry. This is also a tiny part of the huge world that is the Mandelbrot set. To use my usual comparison, if the entire Mandelbrot set was the size of earth, this image shows a close-up of an area roughly the size of a sheet of legal size paper.
This image too includes one of the infinite multitude of tiny visual copies of the entire set at its centre. By the same scale comparison, it would measure less than a centimetre across.
The title of this piece is from the visual effect of the texture and colour that looks like patina on a detailed antique woodcarving.
