This was painted from the live model. After seeing an exhibit in San Francisco on the paintings of women impressionists, I became very inspired. This is a tribute to Maria Cassatt and Berthe Morisot. She reminds me of the Mother, I called her Mary, Marie, or otherwise the original mother.
