Description
This old lock was painted from a photograph supplied to me by Marsha Elliott: http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/marsha-elliott.html. I tried something a little different in that I didn't put in any hard edged shadows like I have in most of my work. I also exaggerated many of the colors in the wooden planks in order to add additional interest. It is painted with 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# paper.

Wow! This is lovely Ken (as is all your work!). I love your colour palette and greatly admire your skill; you have a wonderful eye for detail. Thank you so much for your kind comment too - its very encouraging and really very much appreciated.

Ken, Your magic with the brush and paint works so well to capture the essence of an object. It brings out beauty never seen that has been there all the time... But with your discerning eye, and magic touch you enlighten us and bring forth innate beauty in everyday things. Thanks for your comment about "Winter Gossip", my snow picture.

Hi Ken. Thanks for the comments on my painting. I am very impressed with your work and your subject matter is wonderful and quiet refreshing. Keep up the good work. Sorry, I can't decide which are my favourite, so I am just going to say I like them ALL!
