Tabby, a building material unique to the area, is made oyster shells, sand and water. The mill was built in 1825 and is the largest and best preserved of all tabby remains in the Southeast. Its rooms which were devoted to the grinding, boilding and processing of cane for sugar products are still in tact. the ruins are one of the oldest industrial sites of Georgia. The building burned in the mid-1800's and was never rebuilt.

My name is Rebecca Stephens and I have been drawing since I was a child. I love to photograph historical sites, flora and fauna, and the bustling cities! The final snap shot shows just a moment in time that has been captured, but really I spent all day gallivanting around for several hours to get that one photo, and loved it! I wander out for the experience and to live! I especially believe in CONSERVATION. Most people think of nature with the word conservation, but my definition is expanded to include ways of life, working with one's hands, heritage, upcycling items, natural resources, that woodland next door that provides your home shade and privacy.
