I purchased this for a gift and the recipient was blown away. The artistry is alive in this bag with Frida. Perfect!

I absolutely LOVE Monica's artwork and it's extra special to be able to carry her artwork around with me wherever I go. Quality of the bag is good, too!

I’m very pleased with my Back2bike bag from artist John Kurtyka. The bag is high quality so it holds my library books quite securely. And since I’m a bike rider, I love the picture, so unique, people notice it and comment so I tell them about this website and the unique works of this artist.

Gorgeous photo on the bag. Loved that I could adjust the photo size to suit my preference. Wanted to use for going to the health food store as I need to replace the 15 year old canvas, washable bags I have now. These will not last as long as those canvas bags. I could even deal with slight fading when I needed to wash them. These do not feel washable. Cheap mesh "fabric" on the interior will tear. Disappointed in the fabric on the inside and outside.

I was hoping for a heavyweight cotton canvas bag to use for grocery shopping; this will not be it. I wanted a bag that would be washable. This has a cheap mesh fabric on the interior that will tear in short order. The exterior is some sort of nylon or other synthetic fabric that I do not feel comfortable washing. I guess I didn't realize what kind of fabric it was made of. It is beautiful but not useful for my needs.

Artist's Description

Thank you for visiting - very much appreciated! We did a short hike on the new Aquila Loop Trail at the Sierra Vista Open Space Preserve, located in the hills east of San Jose, California. We diverted from the trail to climb a nearby hill, two people crossed their path. I processed this image differently. I took a single exposure, added some highlights and strong shadows, then added some vignetting. After that I processed the image into a soft HDR photo to enhance the micro-contrast of the clouds. -- Copyright 2014, Peter Thoeny, CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, HDR, 1 exposure, NEX-6, _DSC6701_hdr1sof1b

About Peter Thoeny

Peter Thoeny loves to travel and is fascinated with photography since high school in Switzerland. He first used a simple camera on his trips abroad, then for many years shot manually with a Rollei 35. Film was expensive in those days, and when traveling on a shoestring he had to carefully use and compose the shots. He learned to compose images when he did charcoal drawings and paintings while visiting Italy and other places in Europe. Peter now lives in the Silicon Valley for 18 years, and is an instructor at the Digital Photo Academy teaching photography in the San Francisco Bay Area. Peter loves to travel with a small camera bag. He mostly uses a Sony NEX-6 mirror-less camera with a 50mm f1.8 prime lens, a 16-50mm zoom lens, and a...
