This is the Mejiro (also known as the Japanese White-Eye). This small bird feeds on insects, fruit and nectar from flowers. In this image, the bird is sipping nectar from Lehua Mamo, which is an endemic tree in Hawai'i. These birds were imported to Hawai'i in the 1929 as a cage bird and have spread throughout the Islands.
