My father owns the same truck its the same color and everything and it originally sat in grandfather's garage with a gravel driveway until we pulled it out and rescued it and this photo reminds me of that day cause the garage even looks the same too. I will eventually hang it on my wall im remodeling my living room and ima hang it on my wall when it's done to pay respect to my father who bought me my first home and someday he's leaving this truck to me to carry on its legacy.

Metropolis was created in 1990 as part of my final portfolio for a Diploma in Fine Arts. Back then, digital options didn't exist for the average person, which meant my idea had to be created manually.
I started the process by taking photos around Sydney's CDB (NSW) using a Pentax Program A 35mm camera and hand processing the B&W neg film and resulting prints. Next, using a scalpel, I hand-cut and pasted 100+ pieces from these photos to form the original image. Using Indian ink and a fine brush, I blended the cut edges.
Finally, I re-photographed the original montage using a large format camera (it was a Leica I think) to create a large format B&W negative. I processed the large format negative and used it to create the final photographic print.
To create a digital version, I had the large format negative professionally scanned as it delivered a superior result to scanning a photograph.
The image bears no resemblance to what Sydney really looks li...
My works are fun, often quirky, showcasing life in its various forms. The shutterbug in me was released when I received a $10 Kodak Instamatic camera as a teenager. In my 20's, I moved to 35mm film. When I dipped my toe into the digital photography, I never looked back. For more of my work and products - sienebrowne.redbubble.com
