Description
Mexican Talavera pottery has been a favorite of mine for many years because of the many colors used in each piece and the unique designs that mix so many patterns together creating harmony. I created this watercolor of some of my
favorite pieces of pottery resting on a stairway built with hand painted tiles and the rusty clay saltillo tiles from Mexico. The stairway and adobe walls are something you might see all around the Southwest. One of my favorite places to see these is the village of Tlaquepaque in Sedona, Arizona. Many shops and galleries there have these delightful tiled steps leading to their doors. I also included a tiny gecko that could be climbing the wall or hiding among the pots.
This piece would make a great addition to anyone's Southwest decor.
