An image from my recent trip to Namibia, taken in the middle of a very dark Sossusvlei desert! A little light painting helped bring out the beautiful textures in the sand and back dune, against which the incredible Milky Way contrasts. It's hard to describe the feeling of almost insignificance when sitting in a location such as this. The enormity of space, so visible because of the lack of light pollution, and the deafening silence of the desert which stretches for mile after mile after mile. Ju
