Description
Unlike honey bees, mining bees work alone. As the name suggests, they dig a nest with multiple tunnels. At the end of each tunnel they place a ball of pollen, a pot of nectar and a single egg, then close the chamber. Mining Bees, like bumble bees, are buzz pollinators - they buzz in a vibration that encourages the release of pollen.
