This painting makes me happy!! The colors are really fun and, like his other pieces I own, expertly painted. I want to live in this cottage and walk into the ocean. Ordered it on canvas - well executed. Thank you for the smiles!

Artist's Description
Mirror-montage image of a gnarled old tree up against a gnarled old wall. When I joined the two halves of the montage together I was literally amazed to see the little faces and figures that appeared where they join in the middle - spooky! Or maybe it's just my imagination? Talking of which, the appeal of this image personally relates to childhood memories of mine. In my imagination I could "see" faces and little creatures in the patterns of the grain of wooden furniture, or familiar objects in my room which somehow took on a different identity in the dark. Experiences which I'm sure are common to most children.

Andy, I saw your posting of this image in the Memories and Nostalgia group discussion, and found it very interesting. It reminded me of something that I saw in the Hagia Sophia Mosque in Istanbul. I went back into my photo archive to retrieve the photo and uploaded it today to add to your very captivating discussion in the Group. Thanks for posting this interesting image, and bringing it up in the discussion. voted

Great montage! I loved to let my imagination discover the hidden things when my late husband did in this kind of work. In this, I also see larger faces with the trees themselves forming eyes and with the holes as pupils. F V & T … Elaine (V&Vo)
Andy Prendy replied:
Hi Elaine - I'd never "seen" the larger tree faces, but yes, you're right. Thanks very much for a fresh view at my own stuff!

It´s a beautiful photo with a stunning effect!!! L+F (just shows how the human brain perceives information in the surrounding world humans are very good at seeing faces in random dots this is called Pareidolia)
Andy Prendy replied:
Thanks again, and for the detail about Pareidolia - just had a look at wikipedia - fascinating!

I like the mirror image effect - I agree that it gives it a mid-evil effect. Love the coloring with the hint of bluish tones. Very nice image. v
