Great work!V

Andy, nice mirror image. v I had never heard of the work "pareidolia" but after reading the definition that is pretty much what I do. Nice of you to share.

great texture. v

Andy, I saw your posting of this image in the Memories and Nostalgia group discussion, and found it very interesting. It reminded me of something that I saw in the Hagia Sophia Mosque in Istanbul. I went back into my photo archive to retrieve the photo and uploaded it today to add to your very captivating discussion in the Group. Thanks for posting this interesting image, and bringing it up in the discussion. voted

Great montage! I loved to let my imagination discover the hidden things when my late husband did in this kind of work. In this, I also see larger faces with the trees themselves forming eyes and with the holes as pupils. F V & T Elaine (V&Vo)

Andy Prendy replied:

Hi Elaine - I'd never "seen" the larger tree faces, but yes, you're right. Thanks very much for a fresh view at my own stuff!

this is wonderful work Andy voted

Its a beautiful photo with a stunning effect!!! L+F (just shows how the human brain perceives information in the surrounding world humans are very good at seeing faces in random dots this is called Pareidolia)

Andy Prendy replied:

Thanks again, and for the detail about Pareidolia - just had a look at wikipedia - fascinating!

I like the mirror image effect - I agree that it gives it a mid-evil effect. Love the coloring with the hint of bluish tones. Very nice image. v

I have gone/and currently going, through the same thing. I will love what I have done but not get much response. I tend to be pretty eclectic in my art, and I have a lot! I myself get kind of annoyed, especially if I want to see one subject matter. You can also make it so it defaults to your galleries page instead of your artwork page. It has helped me a lot! Hey, at least I am organized on here! haha I greatly enjoy your work, they are breathtaking.... definitely do not stop! :D

This is beautiful and has a dark medieval romantic feel to it.

Andy Prendy replied:

Hi Anna Marie Thanks for your comments on a couple of my mirror image prints. You are the first to give me some feedback on them, which was really nice as I was starting to think it was just me who liked them. But now with your encouragement I will persevere with a few more and make a gallery. By the way I like very much the way you have organised your page into galleries, it looks really well presented for any visitor - made me think I should do something similar to make my FAA "shop" more organised. Anyway, thanks again for your comments.

Good quality canvas, and the photos looks great.

I was very disappointed as the picture on the front of the bag has a black background but the lining on all of these bags is grey. It looks so dreadful I’m sure it even looks worse with a light or pastel coloured cover. As you use it this grey keeps showing giving it a cheap look. it would be so much better without lining if grey is the best you can do. Also the fabric is too soft and droops if the bag isn’t full. So you end up having a droopy bag with grey lining showing. It would be so much better to make this style in the fabric you use in the standard tote. It keeps its shape and the image on this fabric is much clearer. Also it doesn’t need to be lined.

Love this tote, very large and rugged for me to carry books in. Adorable illustration from a gourmet magazine cover. High quality.

Artist's Description

Mirror-montage image of a gnarled old tree up against a gnarled old wall. When I joined the two halves of the montage together I was literally amazed to see the little faces and figures that appeared where they join in the middle - spooky! Or maybe it's just my imagination? Talking of which, the appeal of this image personally relates to childhood memories of mine. In my imagination I could "see" faces and little creatures in the patterns of the grain of wooden furniture, or familiar objects in my room which somehow took on a different identity in the dark. Experiences which I'm sure are common to most children.
