I love the artist and usually purchase her originals or prints and have been extremely satisfied with them, but this original and some others were sold so I purchased cards to frame. I have to comment that this card was a little dark and if it could be lightened a little, it would better represent the artwork. The artist is one of my favorites.

About Lorna Lorraine
I am Lorna Lorraine, a self-taught Abstract Expressionist Artist who specialized in mixed-media Art and portraits in Pastel but is currently on a new explorative path. I am motivated by the way I inspire others with the storytelling in my work. I recognized my ability to express my plausible theories into abstract realism at the age of 50. Starting Art after publishing my first anthology, I defied age and gender-related stereotypes in my occupations and commitment to lifelong learning. Art was not a part of my plan. My vision emerged upon viewing the works of a group of talented artists and artisans at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, where I volunteered academic services. I eventually joined the enclave of artists in a permanent exhibit of...

Oh Carol you have tapped right into it. Thank you so much for your comment!

Lorna, This is a marvellous portrait, and yes I can see her wounded past by looking into her eyes,,,you have very masterfully painted a real story of past hurts, superimposing her angelically illuminated face.against an unfeeling stark black background . Your comp, is great, by placing her just off center, she is tentatively deciding whether to fully make her entrance....many of us have been where she is,,,, takes a few steps, sometimes years,,,,,,to go from background to spotlight,,, but its always soo worth the effort,!!!,,,, Carole.
