I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
Mitotic cell division. Coloured transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of a cell during the metaphase stage of mitosis (cell division). The structure at centre is the microtubule spindle, a strucure formed from the microtubules (red) of the cell's cytoskeleton. During the metaphase stage, the chromosomes (which contain the cell's DNA, its genetic material) form a line (metaphase plate, dark red) on the microtubule spindle. In the next stage, the spindles drag the chromosomes apart, forming two identical sets. Mitosis is the process by which a cell divides into two identical daughter cells.
