The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Thank you for your interest in my painting �Modern � Day Mother in Zion� currently on exhibit online as part of the 8th International Art Competition for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This painting resulted from weeks of prayer on my part and was created just for the church�s art competition. I have only recently returned to art after having devoted the last 28 years to raising my children. Motherhood was the most exhausting, challenging, scary and rewarding thing I could ever have done. It was difficult to say the least. I know from first hand experience, as do all LDS parents, that these are truly the last days, and the battle for our children�s well being is very intense. The stakes have never been higher, nor the opposition more deadly.

I wanted to show a modern mother who has strength and is equal to the task. It was very important to me to show that she has been injured from the battles she has fought, and from the obvious...

A native of the Pacific Northwest, Anita studied fine arts and geology at Western Washington University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Initially working in architectural design, illustration and art murals for residential and commercial clients, she currently focuses on fine art painting in oil, acrylic and pastel.
