All eyes are watching the miracle of the endangered Monarch butterfly. According to Journey North, most Monarch's are born in the spring and summer and live for only 2 to 6 weeks. This late summer/fall Monarch butterfly will emerge and migrate all the way from our front yard milkweed meadow in New Jersey, to Mexico for the winter! I noticed this chrysalis on 9/11. Chrysalis stage only takes 8-15 days (photo taken 9/18).The pale green chrysalis will soon turn clear and the orange and black wings will be visible on the day before this magical pollinator is born!
