The most agile Big Cat of Africa. This picture shows the mystique ability to come out of stealth mode right into your environment! I love the color combinations and the total "Big Boy" attitude it calmly strolls out with. The name "Effect Of Darkness" fits this beautiful Leopard completely.
Artist's Description
This is the harbor on Monhegan Island in Maine, painted in August, 2007. I rean to this spot breathlessly after retrieving another canvas. I sat on the ground infront of the large and grand Monhegan hotel and painted it on the spot in "plein air" from start to finish. the elderly people sitting on the porch of the hotel enjoyed it.

Debra Bretton Robinson is a Massachusetts artist and a participant in the vibrant Lowell art scene. Debra's acrylic paintings on canvas concentrate on the natural landscapes and architecture of New England in vibrating colors, Most of her work is done "en plein air" Her style borders between representational and abstract. The colors and lines of her paintings are inspired by Matisse during the Fauvist movement. The talents of several other artists she continues to draw upon are: William Henry Johnson, "The Seven" from Canada, Alice Neel, and the artists of Gee's Bend.
