Featured on the Home Pages of Fine Art America Groups! Summer sunlight glows on these blue Irises which were growing in my back yard garden. I pulled up a white patio chair, and painted these beauties in the heat, shaded with my large-brimmed hat, occasionally alternating taking some sips from my water bottle and giving a little to the flowers! There were many Irises growing thickly in this patch, casting interesting shadows, which waved a little in the slight breeze. This oil painting was done in the Chiaroscuro method, in a realistic style, to capture the essence of sunlight on a hot summer day.
