I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

Great blue herons (ardea herodias) can be found in any watery habitat from Alaska and Canada, down through the United States into Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and the northern tip of South America. They are a partial migrant, moving only when the water freeze over and a rare vagrant to Europe.
The largest of the North American herons, they measure from 38.2" to 53.9" in length with a wingspan between 65.7" and 79.1." They have long yellow legs, a sinuous neck, and a thick daggerlike yellow bill with a dark top. The wings are broad and rounded with a light grey forewing and darker flight feathers. Light grey overall, they have white streaks down the front of their neck, a wide black stripe over their eyes and dark trailing feathers on the back of the head.
