Description
Early in my group tour of Morocco, we were heading from Chefchaouen to Meknes when we made a brief stop in Moulay Idriss, or Moulay Idriss Zerhoun. Moulay Idriss is considered a holy town to the Moroccan people because it was here that Moulay Idriss I arrived in 789, bringing the religion of Shiism, and starting a new dynasty.
The town's medina, or old town, is similar to the medinas in other cities in Morocco, with small and narrow streets where you will occasionally have to make way for a donkey or mule carrying a passenger or pulling a cart.
