This is great in black and white! V

Thanks Emily!

This image looks fabulous in black and white. good choice!

Thanks Jane!

Beautiful B/W photograph Julie! Thank you for description. V/F

Thanks Mariola!

Your description cracks me up! We have a mountain cabin and last week I was running to the outhouse in the dark, slipped on some ice and really whacked my toe. It gives me empathy for those hardy, old time mountain dwellers.

Oh my gosh Harriet! You do have a unique appreciation! Thanks!

Thank you Charles Robinson for the feature in your group "Black and White Photography!"

I love it, Julie. I like your description of the history of this icon

Thanks Charles!

Hd to pick between the black and white color version of this cool shot. Each has such a different mood. v/f

Thanks Bob! I like the DOF on the color better, but the b/w seems to fit the subject.

About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Stunning artwork. The colors are very vibrant. I get compliments on this piece all the time. I was worried it wouldn’t be as pretty post purchase verses viewing online but this exceeded my expectations!

Where is this? It has not even shipped yet!

September 18th, 2018

Ad said it has a hanging wire, it doesn’t. Has a big chunk of wood glued to the back with a hanging bracket. Acrylic distorts the picture in my opinion.

This rating is for Fine Art America only. Not the artist. I received this print on acrylic. It shows to have a silver back ground, but it was green-ish in real life. That didn't work for me so I needed to send it back. It cost me $32 to have it shipped, but $96....yes, NINETY SIX dollars to have it sent back. Fine Arts could have had a pre-printed label from their corporate account (like Amazon does) for it to be shipped back and then that ($32) amount deducted from my refund. They did not. So, basically I paid $120 to get a product that did not match the print online. Therefore, I will NEVER shop at Fine Art America again AND will warn everyone I know to beware.

I have seen this in person many times. I thought it would be nice to have a picture of it. I am so glad I got this.

Artist's Description

Colorado outhouse photo, a black and white print of a primitive rustic privy located in the alpine ghost town of Independence, Colorado. It is one of the highest outhouses in the USA at 10,830 feet. A perfect way to add the rustic beauty of the west to your home, office, or bathroom decor. ................... The term outhouse is used in North American English for the structure over a pit toilet. The structures are referred to by many other terms throughout the English-speaking world including dunny in Australia and bog in the United Kingdom. The terms kybo and biffy are unique to the Scouting movements. In New Zealand such toilets are referred to as long-drops. ..................... Independence is a ghost town in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is located just off State Highway 82 in the eastern corner of Pitkin County, below the Continental Divide. It was the first settlement established in the Roaring Fork Valley, after gold was struck in the vicinity on Independence Day, July 4...

About Julie Magers Soulen

My Colorado fine art photography features nature, landscape, wildlife, flowers, urban, and black and white photos of the American West. Since I moved to Colorado more than 20 years ago, I have been an avid outdoors enthusiast. In the late 90s I moved to a house in the forest of the Rocky Mountains where I lived off-grid with solar power for 12 years. I loved hiking in the surrounding mountain forests with my two dogs. My love of nature is reflected in my photography. I find nature to be inspiring in all its many forms. For eight years my work was featured in a regular online column, The Colorado Journal, in The Denver Post. LINKS Facebook Blog Twitter Website Even More Links CONTRIBUTOR University of Denver...
