This painting is a view from the top of Bonticou Crag in the Shawangunk Mountains, near New Paltz, N.Y. It is a favorite place that can be reached by following a trail with some rock climbing or via a carriage road. The Catskill Mountains can be seen in the distance. I wanted to capture the beautiful bright red color the leaves of the blueberry bushes turn in the Autumn. The painting is done on 140lb Arches cold pressed watercolor paper.
