Great shot. Your patience paid off.

I actually sat there for over 30 minutes waiting for it to do so. A lady who was on the Mustang drive with us had her elderly mom along, and were wanting a pic of the mountain for mother. They finally gave up and went down (we were at Crystal Mountain in July of '11) So I waited a bit longer, got the shot, printed it for her on my Canon Pro 9000 and sent it to her...without telling her I had it. He mom was thrilled! Made my day! Right after I took the shot, the clouds rolled back over the top! LOL!!!

Beautiful shot. Looks like the clouds parted just for you!

Thanks Patricia. I'd like to think so as well. hehehehe!

Average Rating (5 Stars):

The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

very nice, love the colour not keen on the white tastle border but i like it, i'm going to use it as blanket for my hamock,

Artist's Description

This shot was taken on the third Friday of July in 2011. I was on a cruise with friends from a Mustang club, and we went to Crystal Mountain, north of Mt. Rainier and took the ski lift to the top of the ski runs. Although this was July, it was their last weekend of skiing for that year, one which had a tremendous snow fall. I waited for an hour for the clouds to part to get this shot of the top of Mt. Rainier...and was properly rewarded! Enjoy!

About Hugh Carino

I began shooting pictures around the age of 8 when my grandfather gave me my first camera. Eventually I talked him out of a 35mm camera (an old Argus) with a flash, a couple of lenses and a tripod. I was on my way. I still have all of those cameras and the tripod, all in working condition some 50+ years later! Around 2000 I purchased my first digital camera, but the early digital days were still not good for my preferred subjects. (landscapes, mountains, barns etc) Eventually I became friends with a fellow who was an editor of a car magazine, and when the opportunity came up I bought a used Canon Rebel from one of his stringers. Along with the camera came a couple of lenses and I put away my last film camera. In my collections here...
