Description
NO THIS WAS NOT DONE IN PHOTOSHOP. I photographed this image with a Nikkormat FTN 35mm SLR with a Nikkor 50mm f/2 lens. The success of this photo is based on the fact that white light is made up of three colors; red, green, and blue. With my camera on a tripod I made three exposures on one frame of film. One exposure was made through a red filter, the second exposure was made through a green filter, and the last exposure was made through a blue filter. The filters red, green, and blue combine to produce white light. This just adds to the exposure. If we photographed a non-moving subject with these filters added there would be no difference in what the photo looked like, because we just would be adding more exposure to white light. If we add a moving subject like we have here which is moving water, what ever moves and misses parts of the exposure will take up other colors than what we would normally see. So when the wind blows the trees we see shifts in color, when the water moves we see a variety of color. The film used was Kodak Kodachrome 25, process K-14.
