Congratulations on your feature in the Arches for Artists and Buyers Group for January, 2017. Great image!! Please post your image in our "Featured Images" discussion thread! l/f

Judy, thank you for featuring this image in Landscape and Landmark Photography. I feel honored that you chose it.

Thanks so much, Judy, for your fine comment. Removing a thick cable running across the front of a vintage building, then reconstructing it bit by bit, was well-worth the effort in this case. Quite proud of this one.

Wonderful work on this vintage landmark!

Denyse, I just discovered your kind feature of this image in June in Amazing FAA Photographers. My computer was in the shop, and I apparently missed this homepage feature. Please know how much I appreciate it, and you!

Thank you, Dan Marinescu, for featuring this sepia of the N.D. Hill Building, Port Townsend Historic District, in Premium FAA Artists. I'm so pleased with the honor!

Thanks, Chrisann, for featuring this image in Weekly Fun For All Mediums! I am honored by your generosity, and appreciate the chance to share this beautiful historic building.

Thank you so much, Mary. Sometimes big ol' wires cut straight across our shot, and we have to remove them and reconstruct portions of the building, pixel by pixel. In this case, it was worth it. It's a beautiful vintage building in the historic district,. I know you, too, appreciate treasures such as this.

This is beautiful, Connie!

Victoria, thank you so much for all the exclamation marks. I really appreciate your enthusiastic comment and vote!

That's quite a nice compliment, Mike. Thank you for that, and for your vote.

Thank you, Robyn. I so appreciate your comment and vote!

Rafael, thank you so much for your excellent compliment. I'm brand-new to Photoshop Elements, and it's nice to know you like the results. Also, point-and-shooters might be encouraged to see the detail one can capture with a non-DSLR camera (the Nikon was non available for our last day of vacation).

Back to the Future. Excellent play of effects. Congrats. Liked / Fav

Artist's Description

N. D. Hill Building. Port Townsend Historic District by Connie Fox. Frontal view showing three sides of the 19th century N. D. Hill building, c. 1868, in Port Townsend, Washington. This vintage building, rendered as a vertical black-and-white sepia, is located in the Port Townsend Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, making it a U.S. National Historic Landmark District. Port Townsend is located in Jefferson County, at the northeast tip of the Olympic Peninsula on the north shore of Washington. The population of Port Townsend is about nine thousand. Its area is about nine square miles, some of which is water. In addition to its natural scenery, Port Townsend is known for the many Victorian buildings remaining from its late 19th-century heyday. By the late 19th century, Port Townsend was a well-known seaport, very active and banking on the future. Many homes and buildings were built during that time, with most of the architecture o...

About Connie Fox

Photography, plus the research it entails, has become one more enjoyable journey in a blessed life. In 1969 I graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist and cleaned teeth for more than a decade--mainly in Texas, where I still live. After my first feature article, for my professional journal, made its way behind the Iron Curtain, I saw the power of the written word to change lives. Then came feature articles and poetry for national publications, leading to award-winning writing, graphic design, and consulting for advertising and design firms. Along the way: homemaker and mother of two, community leader, choir member, ensemble singer, and trip- and special-event planner. All of these skills and life-experiences now weave their way into...
