Natural monument Carcavas del Marchal
Located east of the province of Granada, in the Hoya de Guadix and flanked by high mountain ranges, isolate it and give it a climate of continental character, it is a spectacular landscape known as the gully of Marchal, located in the town of same name.
It is a system formed by movements of Earth's plates that caused the collapse of this area, giving rise to a rift valley. This depression, with the passage of time, it was filling materials, mostly soft as clay and silt. Because of the sparse vegetation, the frequent torrential rains in the area and the drag of materials was creating a landscape of ravines, gullies and deep ditches called gullies. These peculiar formations of brown, ocher, green and dark shades are a set of visual appeal.
