Canary Spring, an ever changing feature in Mammoth Hot Springs area of Yellowstone National Park, has a great amount of soft runoff of silica produced by the hot spring itself. The wonderful and magical patterns formed by the runoff continuously change the landscape not only in color but in shape making it most interesting to watch year after year. The soft streams of water which are emitted from the spring gently flow downward creating the silky look seen in this image.
